Session 2: The 27th Roper-Hall Eye Foundation Prize Medal Competition  
Synopsis: Case presentations from trainees where there is a message to be learnt or there is a change in practice. Each case will be open to discussion with the judges and the floor before the audience use Sli.do on their smart phones or tablets to vote for the winner. The winner receives a hallmarked solid silver medal and their name is inscribed on the honours board.

Session 3: The Great Debate – “Lumper versus Splitter”
Synopsis: Experts for and against the motion give a 5-minute résumé to present their case, followed by a 15-minute debate from the floor before the audience use ‘Slido’ on their smart phones or tablets to vote for the winner.

(mixture of basic and clinical science research, and medical education)
